307 – Prophetic Revelation Comes to God-Seekers

307 – Prophetic Revelation Comes to God-Seekers

July 30, 1988

Through our ad, God brought a couple from Naples, New York, and they bought the green van for $900. Praise the Lord. They will pick it up on Monday. A huge hurdle has been surmounted by selling our vehicle. And we are happy with the price.

I’m seeing that in my devotions in Exodus, God was giving me an increase of healthy respect and reverence for Him.

This was imperative, as I was still in the transformation process from being the anti-establishment, rebellious, 1960’s girl, to becoming wholly submitted to my holy and awesome God and His Word.

Exodus 26-28 God’s directions were specific, and obedience to them was required. Aaron had to follow orders or receive the Lord’s disapproval or even die in his ministering in the holy place.

August 1

Exodus 30 God’s guidelines were clear: He expected obedience.

God generously gave skills when He called artisans to specific tasks.

Aaron was easily distracted by the people. He was unfaithful to his brother and to God. He left the teachings of God and took the people with him into idolatry.

Exodus 33 Moses was a man who wanted to know God’s ways and God made sure that the people knew that Moses had His favor.

All of this said to me: Listen for the voice of God, respect Him, take Him seriously. Determine to please Him in all things. Expect His blessings, expect His favor! Work with Him and thereby be peaceful and happy.

August 2nd and 4th -more prophetic revelation about THE BABY VISION –from my 6 year old son and a man from Elim

We were setting up the motor home and Markie was sitting on the ‘master bed.’ He said: Mom if you have a baby, if you have two babies, you can change one over here and one over there. (The baby vision was not a subject we brought up for family discussion because it was such a far out topic, so I was completely surprised by Mark’s words. I realized that it was a sort of nudge from the Holy Spirit to my spirit to keep the vision alive, to not neglect it, forget it, dismiss it. Not to let it die.)

Listening to a tape from an Elim Camp Meeting message from last month, Paul Johansson said: “Don’t reveal a revelation! After you get it you must go by way of the cross to be prepared for the actuality of it. ALWAYS!”

Johansson’s exhortation was prophetic for me. The few times I had shared the baby vision people laughed or looked at me blankly. Their incredulity shook my faith. I made it my standard to keep silent about it, and I kept the vision to myself. How precious it was of God to let me have the understanding that I was expected to carry the vision with Jesus alone. (and Dan)

I would ‘carry’ the vision of having more babies for 6 years until God revealed to us the next step in His plan.

From now on, all of the comments that relate to the baby vision will be in green.

306 ~ Promise of Angelic Protection

306 – Promise of  Angelic Protection

July 29, 1988

Thank You, Lord. I take this for just what it says: in listening for Your voice and obeying You, we have Your blessing and protection.

Exodus 23:20-33 He is sending an angel ahead of us on our journey!

20 an angel will go ahead of us to guard us and bring us to the place God has prepared for us.

21 pay attention to him and listen to what he says: do not rebel against him! My presence is in him.

22 If we listen carefully and do what He says, God shall be an enemy to our enemies.

24 Do not bow down before other gods or worship them or follow their practices; demolish them.

25 WORSHIP THE LORD YOUR GOD AND HIS BLESSING WILL BE UPON YOUR FOOD AND WATER.

I WILL TAKE SICKNESS AWAY FROM THE MIDST OF YOU.

26 None will miscarry or be barren,

I WILL GIVE YOU A FULL LIFE SPAN.

27 I will send my terror ahead of you and throw into confusion every nation you encounter.

I will make your enemies turn their backs and run.

29 Little by little I will drive them out – until you have increased enough to take possession of the land.

32 Do not make a covenant with them or with their gods.

33 Do not let them live in your land or they will cause you to sin against Me, because the worship of their gods will be a snare to you.

By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, NOT KNOWING where he was going. Hebrews 11:8

Just as we had ‘gone out now knowing’ on our trip from Reno to New York, and at other times in our Christian walk, this is what God was requiring/requesting at this juncture.

302 – Our Shepherd Will Provide

302 – Our Shepherd Will Provide

July 10, 1988

We drove to Buffalo to hear Pastor Paul Yonggi Cho who pastors the largest church in the world, which is in South Korea. I always take notes and I summarized his message:

Pastor Cho taught on Psalm 23. It brought release from the pressure to have everything lined out and pre-planned before we leave Livonia. HE WILL PROVIDE. He is our Shepherd.

Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on….But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you…. Matthew 6:25

In other words: don’t worry or strive.

Pastor Cho suggested praying 1 hour a day so that my soul will be restored.

He prays three hours a day—so his soul is restored and so that he is bold in the spirit.

He said to look to God instead of looking at what the enemy is doing. Even tragedy is turned to blessing when we are trusting God. Even in bitter experiences, God’s mercy is there.

Since Jehovah is my God, I have nothing to be negative about.

Everything is good with Jesus, whether there is sun or storm.

Lord Jesus, it’s all about faith in You, trusting you, not being afraid, keeping the faith going,

297 – Timmy Stayed Bonded

297 – Timmy Stayed Bonded

July 6, 1988

Yesterday Dan asked Timmy if he would like to move, even though he could not go to school at Livonia Primary. Tim said a hearty “yes!”

A few days ago when Dan had asked the same question, Tim had said “no.”

The McNeals have been staying with us, in between the first question and this one, and I believe that their visit has been a GODSEND. Tim and Clancey (age 10) have spent a lot of time together, and Clancey really liked itinerating and being on the road. Thanks, Clancey!!

When we leave here, we will be uprooted, and Timmy would be back in homeschool.

July 7

Steve’s 8th birthday. We decorated with crepe paper and balloons, Dan made a super birthday poster, and we had his friends over for cake and ice cream.

Eva Leissups told a story about two sisters who wanted to go to China but God sent them to the Chinese in New York City to learn the culture and the language. I don’t know if they ever left the US. [This proved to be directive and prophetic for us.]

Genesis 22 Was our sending Timmy to public school for one year (because our authority expected it) like Abraham laying Isaac on the altar? Was it a test from God to test our faith in Him, and to prove our commitment to Him? v 11 “Now I (angel of the Lord) know that you fear God because you have not withheld from Me your son.” Lord, I feel encouraged that I passed a test, and that Dan did too, and that You covered Tim.

I also felt relieved that our bond with Tim had survived the 9 month school year separation. Oh, how I fretted about that.

The Lord’s lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.

Lamentations 3:22-23

295 – A Trailer, a Workshop, and a Routine

295 – A Trailer, a Workshop, and a Routine

May 10, 1988

Dan saw an Airstream travel trailer for $5,600. School at Elim was winding down and our missions program was ending. We were pretty sure we were moving on. We were not sure of our destination, but we thought a trailer or a motor home might be the way to go wherever we were going. So we began to pray and look around, all the while knowing that we could not afford to purchase anything.

May 27, 1988

I went to a Greg Harris workshop. He’s a famous speaker who is outspoken about the value of  homeschooling and it was very encouraging. What impacted me was his challenge to dads: would your children follow you into the ark as Noah’s children did? Noah was the head of the home. He had integrity, he related to the family in such a way that they would follow him (as adults) wherever he led them. Later at home, I was looking at Dan and thinking, “Yes they would follow their dad, and so would I.”

June 24, 1988

We were now on a summer schedule. Timmy was home and most days the whole neighborhood was over at our house. But I really wanted to have a family routine, chore time, and Bible time with the boys. I also really wanted Timmy to get back into the family loop. I felt God had given me a revelation after I had read Ephesians 5:15-16:

See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

Be very careful, Georgann—be wise, not foolish. Other people’s children can and should fit into your family’s lives, but carefully make decisions about when, who, how long.

So when Tina called me about watching her sons, I carefully chose 10:30 am. Then Vivian called for me to watch Darren at 8:30 am. I said yes foolishly out of peer pressure and friendship. But I decided that from now on, that early time is a priority for breakfast, chores, Tim and Steve reading to me, me reading Bible to all of them, and keeping my homeschool log daily. I am asking God to intervene this morning to help it go well.

Later: with much prayer, and with confidence, yet with trembling, I went into the day. Darren came and we continued with our schedule. I was polite yet firm to keep him from being silly and distracting us from our Bible study and our discussion of the evils of these days. It was an excellent discussion. We went to our reading of Pilgrim’s Progress. Then writing, then listening to Tim and Steve read to me. We went outside to wait for Tim’s friend and Tina’s boys. The morning went excellently—God certainly intervened on my behalf.

And to top off the day: Pastor Judy brought me deodorant!! Later we went strawberry picking—15 quarts!

Psalm 23 He has restored my soul in Livonia. Literally, green pastures and quiet waters have ministered to me. Thank You, Lord!

285 – Jesus is the Only Way to God

285 – Jesus is the

Only Way to God

December 22, 1987

Mom called. She said Uncle Phil was depressed by Connie’s and my notes to him. [Connie were both very concerned that he was near death and did not know Jesus.] Mom said that he is a very religious man and to challenge his faith was not right. “We all have our own beliefs and we are all sure we’re going to heaven.”

She said she and daddy were offended by all the times I say, God loves you. “We know God loves us!”

Well, I was greatly under attack, wavering, and was greatly shaken. I prayed and cried a little. Then the mail came. Eric and Susie had sent $100.

“We were at the Pastor’s Conference and an offering was taken for a missionary’s work in Japan. Eric said he wanted to give their offering TO US for OUR work in Japan!”

What a vote of confidence from our good friends! What a statement from the Lord! I was so BLESSED! I AM on target. JESUS IS THE WAY! JESUS IS THE ONLY WAY! I WILL NOT BE SHAKEN!! We also received $153 from our Reno church friends, and $20 from Eva.

I was up at 2am and could not go back to sleep. Worried. Prayed. I feel their denying Christ as the ‘only way’ will come to a head for them. I pray Phil understands he needs to surrender his life to Jesus.

Aunt Ginger and Uncle Phil wrote a nice letter in which they told me they will not convert from their own beliefs.

Now Phil is in the hospital with a foot nearing amputation, the circulation is so bad. Will all of this come to a head? Only God knows.

Jesus said to him, “I am the , the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6

280 – Behold the Children

280– Behold the Children

November 1, 1987

Tony Martorana spoke on the Flow of the Spirit that he’s been privileged to be part of. God has been using him to  help people and see God heal them. He invited all of us, especially the children, to join him for the baptism of the Holy Spirit. He suggested the parents talk to their children and offer to come up to the front with them. Steve and Mark were enthusiastic to go up. It just happened to be communion Sunday so all the kids were in the service.

Dan took the boys up and Palmer Johnson (a beloved teacher) met them. He sat on the step and talked with them and they followed him in prayer.

Timmy sitting next to me, cried. He had told me a few weeks earlier that he was having some questions about the Lord. Perhaps being in the public school setting is stirring him up. I feel he will be able to fully decide soon. Dan is going to talk to him at home.

Stevie and I went to Elim for the evening service. A missionary who served in Jamaica spoke: Jesus is entrusting you with people He cherishes and we are to treat them carefully.

He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” Mark 10:14

November 3

The kids and I had a good close time of prayer and talking before Timmy left for school. Then Stevie, Markie, and Daniel and I danced and sang and praised God!

I talked to Barb and we prayed for our sons in their second grade classroom. Downstairs Steve and Mark were singing a praise song where you have to scream and shout over and over!

Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger. Psalm 8:2

267 – We Are Being Sifted

267 – We Are Being Sifted

April 9, 1987

I drove into Lima for our home school gathering. A church marquee said:

           April 5, 1987  UNBOUND

THAT WAS MY BIRTHDAY! I feel that was for me!

Yesterday I got:

ARISE [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you; rise to a new life]!

SHINE – be radiant with the glory of the Lord;

for your light is come and the glory of the Lord is risen upon you!  Isaiah 60:1 (Amplified)

The sheriff came while we were in Lima with a summons! Dan’s passenger in the November car accident is suing our insurance company because Brian did not feel he got enough wage compensation during his recovery period. Funny thing—the people who were going to support him didn’t. I pray he will see clearly to drop the suit.

And the Lord said,[a] “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat.  But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.” Luke 22:31-32

We are being sifted.

Check from Life Center in Reno for $55 which is our grocery money for TODAY’s shopping! Praise Jesus!

Bill and Carol sent $10 and a letter. Bless them!

Gregg and Cheryl gave $40 for Dan and I to go out to dinner to celebrate my birthday.

265 – Two Different ‘Drunks’

265 – Two Different ‘Drunks’

April 8, 1987

After being in my class, then in chapel, and then praying so sincerely with my friends at communion, when I got home I regarded the boys differently. I felt more patient, more understanding. I also felt their sincere love for me. I remember thinking that I was willing to lay down my life to show them God’s love.

Since Shan, Elim’s pastor’s wife, called me and asked me to speak to her ladies group on homeschooling, I realized that my testimony of it stinketh. I have been very upset ever since. I have been wanting You to give me a new, beautiful testimony of Jesus in my life. Today I have hope for it! I believe we are working on it together.

And do not get drunk with wine for that is dissipation, BUT BE FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT…making melody in your heart to the Lord. Ephesians 5:18,19d

When I used to be DRUNK with wine, I remember feeling free, bold, happy, not easily offended, having no cares.

Surely being DRUNK with the Holy Spirit must be glorious—having great peace, not easily worried, not easily offended, joyful, positive, full of faith, not doubting, full of good deeds, kind in speech and manner, self controlled in thoughts and actions, long-suffering, gentle not harsh.

Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit let us also walk by the Spirit. Galatians 5:24-25

234 – Letting Go

234 – Letting Go

November 20, 1986

You are drawing me to Yourself through hardship, awareness of my inadequacies, and the ministry you have given me with the boys.

You really desire to live through me in such a way that sweetness and life come out of my mouth.

I believe You want me to be overflowing with the Holy Spirit.

I remember Gloria Copeland’s tapes on walking in the Spirit—pray 1 hour a day in the Spirit–why is is so crazily hard to do this!!

JoAnn (new friend) yesterday said, “To remove worldliness He comes with a scourge, in order to make us a house of prayer. Then the lame and the blind will come. He shows us how defiled we are. He shows us pride. He wants us completely dependent on Him.” Interesting viewpoint.

Last night I let go, caved in, gave it to you—regarding the money we haven’t got for food. I’m going to stop pushing and by God’s grace accept His allotment. That means I’m going to buy what I can and expect Him to provide the rest. Yesterday we got government powdered milk, cornmeal, cheddar cheese, through Joan who has a foster son and gets government help. I was going to the store to get milk, cereal, eggs, and oven cleaner. But after Joan’s visit I decided to make cornmeal mush and trust God for the oven cleaner. I have the dough for baking crackers, but I cannot bake them till the chicken grease (from it popping when I roasted the chicken yesterday) is cleaned. It smokes badly. Maybe I can clean it without cleaner, just hot water and elbow grease.

Lord, You are our provider. As we have surrendered, You are moving. Also, Joan invited us to join their family for dinner after church on Sunday. I am excited to see You bringing a new friendship, yet I am a bit discouraged to have to surrender not being able to fix what I want for my family. Letting go and letting God be in charge of that area is long overdue.

I look for Your bountiful grace to come forth into my obedience. May You please show me any other area of obedience and surrender I need to make! And let me do it easily and quickly!

Soon after this we qualified for WIC (Women, Infants and Children) and picked up our own blocks of cheddar, approved cereals, peanut butter, milk, etc. We were able to stay on the program the rest of the time we were in NY, one and a half years longer.
